Our Signature Lawn Care Program Timeline
Spring
The first treatment is important to get your lawn off to a great start. In early spring we will apply slow-release fertilizer, pre-emergent crabgrass control, and broadleaf weed control. These treatments will result in an early spring green-up, control all active weeds, and prevent summer crabgrass.
Late Spring/Summer
In late spring, phosphate-free slow-release fertilizer will be applied to maintain vigorous growth and good color. Broadleaf weeds like dandelions and clover are common this time of year. Careful and thorough control measures will be applied to minimize weed populations. A surface insect treatment will also be applied to control chinch bugs.
Summer
Phosphate-free slow-release fertilizer will be applied in early summer to maintain vigorous lawn growth and good color. Persistent broadleaf weeds will be treated selectively and we apply a surface feeding insect control to help reduce lawn damaging insect populations like chinch bugs.
Mid/Late Summer
Phosphate-free slow-release fertilizer will be applied in late summer to maintain a healthy turf while eliminating the burn potential of traditional fertilizers. This treatment will help your lawn fight disease, drought, and other heat related stresses. Difficult-to-control summer weeds like crabgrass, spurge and oxalis will be spot controlled as needed. This is the time when lawn damaging insects are a high risk and careful inspection of your lawn will be performed.
Late Summer/Fall
Fall is the best growing time of the year for your lawn. We will apply a heavy rate of quick release, phosphate-free fertilizer. Rapid root and top growth will maximize recovery from summer stresses. Weeds will be controlled as needed. This is a great time to schedule aeration and overseeding, one of our Lawn Enhancement Services.
Fall
As winter approaches in the northeast it is important to strengthen your lawn for the upcoming winter months. This phosphate-free fertilizer will help encourage strong root development without excessive top growth. Your lawn will stay thick, green and lush through November.
